Prefuse 73

Thursday, July 9th, 2009

Tonight, the heroic Prefuse 73 (or Scott Herren to his mates) plays at the recently re-opened Garage. Alas I’ll be missing out on this rare chance to catch him play our shores, but I’ll have his epic 2001 debut Vocal Studies + Uprock Narratives on loop tonight to go someway to make up it.

The Ecstacy Of Gold

As I’ve just caught The Good, The Bad & The Ugly on TV I thought I’d doth my cap to the single greatest film score composer Ennio Morricone. This, in my own humble opinion, is probably the greatest piece of music in any film ever.

I’ve treasured my Morricone music for years just as I do the music by my favourite bands, many of whom have cited him as a huge influence on their work.
