Rachael Dadd

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

Very excited to be catching the beautiful Rachael Dadd tonight. She’s recently returned from touring Europe and is playing in Bethnal Green tonight at Gallery Cafe. She’ll be joined on stage by Ichi, who’s over from Japan to add his balloon-powered melodica, and a variety of other weird and wonderful sounds. Here’s Rachael performing a gorgeous version of Caught In The Weight, and a great video for The Wires put together by Winter Champion…

Peggy Sue

The awesome Peggy Sue were guests at Marc Riley’s show at BBC 6Music the other day. Loving their new song Watchmen, with Rosa’s drum machine and Olly’s DIY bass drum. Can’t get enough of Lover Gone either…

Panama Kings

Monday, June 1st, 2009

Our friends Panama Kings were guests at BBC 6Music’s “The Hub” a couple of weeks ago for a live acoustic session and interview. A total change from the stomping noisy goodness I’m used to, love it just as much! Three cheers to Chris Slade for filming this and being an all round hero…

Little Boots

Monday, June 1st, 2009

Her name and face are becoming more and more familiar with each ‘next big thing’ article and/or conversation and after seeing her play last week it’s clear to see why. Her fun-loving, incredibly catchy and very exciting electronic pop performance exceeded all my expectations and if she does take over the world then I’ll be supporting her every step of the way.

However, it’s the home made video clips of miss Hesketh sat at home with numerous electronic instruments making sweet new sounds that first got us into her last year and here is a particularly favourite… May she forever put pop music back into the hands of the true artists and musicians!
