Blue Roses

Following on from Paul’s post about Gurrumul, the stunning Blue Roses (who some might know as Laura Groves) is supporting him tonight at Union chapel. Her self-titled album came out 2 weeks ago through Salvia, and it’s a thing of beauty. Here’s a gorgeous live version of I Wish I, from a session she did for Jeremy Warmsley’s awesome “Welcome To our TV Show”…

This Is The Kit played at Union Chapel last night- a gig I’ve long been looking forward to but alas had to miss what with busy times at Broken Sound (namely the awesome new Panama Kings single which drops tomorrow). Their debut album “Krulle Bol” is without a doubt one of my favourite releases of last year, so needless to say I was pretty damn chuffed to have Kate over recently to record a live session for our next podcast (which will be available from our site in the next few weeks). Happy days.

We caught this guy at the iTunes store this week as part of City Showcase and his music touched our hearts. Here’s a lovely little clip of a performance by the blind singer from a remote aboriginal island with a neat little intro giving you a little insight into his past.
